Ecological Kids Farm-Fun Workshop 29/12/2025
Join us for a fun morning of garden learning in the Blue Mountains!
9.00-12.30 noon
This workshop is designed for kids who have taken an interest in growing with nature. This morning workshop features the principles of permaculture and organic growing with lots of fun games and activities.
In the garden: At the Lawson garden the soil is rich with life, ready for exploration! We’ll take a dig in the compost and worm farms getting a closer look at the food-web, and our little soil friends. We will learn how to plant seedlings for the season ahead, care for them and even harvest some of our own produce.
In the coop: We have lots of chickens and even quail! We will be learning lots of fun skills, collecting eggs and creating comfy nest boxes. We’ll fill up their food and water for the day, give them yummy treats and learn about chicken behaviours that keep the flock happy and healthy. While we’re at the coop we will be hearing the buzzzzzz of the bee hives and smelling the delicious honey!
The bush kitchen: After all of our hard work and creativity we can try harvesting straight from the garden for a fresh home grown lunch. Our day will wrap up as we sit in our beautiful garden with our home grown meal learning about bush crafts and reflecting on all that we learnt during the morning!
Kids of all ages welcome! Parents welcome too.
Located at the Mountains Gourmet Lawson plot.
Address will be sent to you a few days prior to the workshop date.
